So, I've done it. Call me a follower.

Last Sunday, my husband said that I had learned so much about babies and pregnancy and all that (by obsessively reading and researching, mostly while pregnant. That's the prerogative of a first time Mom, I suppose) that I should start a blog about it. Now, I'm doubting that I have enough to say on that topic that anyone would want to read to make an interesting blog, but the idea stuck nonetheless that maybe I should start a more general blog. So, here it is. When two of my friends announced their own blogs in the last two weeks, I guess it just sealed my decision, follower that I am.

Those of you that know me know that 2009 brought major changes to my life, mostly for the good. I quit my job, had pregnancy complications that I barely remember because they ended with my healthy baby boy, my husband got a new job and we moved to Del Rio, TX, had a 2.5 month stay at a Days Inn, and bought our first home. There's the Readers Digest condensed version, but you get the idea.

All that to say, life with a baby in a new town is somewhat overwhelming and at times downright lonely, but things are looking up. Del Rio is home, we're making friends and the baby is (usually) happy and growing like a weed. As I type, he's sucking his thumb in his walker, a little upset that I'm not letting him crawl around and pull books off the shelf or attempt to climb the computer (before Mommy says NO and carries him off to less interesting (to him) activities).

So, I guess that's about it for today. Here's a picture that will end the first post.
